Description

This is a masterpiece of a helping tool. Everyone in mechanical manufacturing knows about Inspection Protocols and there importance to ensure Quality.

The most companies wrote them by Hand and this can be mess up sometimes. a missing measurement here, a false tolerance from the table there and problems with general Dimensions. With this Tool it's all no Problem anymore. the Engineering works on the drawings and with a simple click, the tool does all the work to them. it searches the opened drawing for marked contol measurements and wrote in them in the protocol PLUS it searches every tolerance for them. The engineer makes a H7 tolerance and normally someone have to take a look in the clearance table what this means. This tools searching according a standard conform table the exact clearance and wrote clear measures in the protocol!

Technical Details

- Developed for Solid Edge ST7 (MP10)

    - (can work on early Versions too, but i don't tried)

    - theoretical the API from ST5 or higher should Support it perfect

- Creates Inspection Protocols in Word-Format and safe them as PDF too

    - Developed for Microsoft Word 2010

    - Works perfect on MS Word 2007 too

- Filled-out the whole protocol according CAD-properties

    - including Filename, head of the file,...

    - everything you already wrote in CAD can be printed

- Works perfect with TRI.COLD-Service (TriSoft)

- Actual built adjusted for properties from PRO.FILE (PROCAD)

    - Properties have to be adjusted to your System, can be done real quick

    - At the Moment it don't have File for adjustment this settings 

        -  All previous customers don't needed this, so i don't made it

- K8-system

  The K8-sytem  is used to safe protocols with a special nametag automatic in folder

  where the file is, instead if the regular path. This helps for alternative work

  systems in same company without having different versions

- Realeased Verison: vary from Client to Client (Master-Version include all addons)

- Developed in Microsoft VisualStudio2013

- Updated all previous VB scripts to actual Version and cleaned-up code

- Works with MS DotNet 4.5 and the SE Community Package for Developers

- Created as console application, so it can be easy automated as Service, implemented in makros, as modul in other programs and you can directly link this tool in SolidEdge as Makro

- GPS-Tolerances according DIN EN ISO 1101

- Don't support GPS-tolerances with more then 3 or without digits

Working with it

- Open CAD-File you wana create a Inspection Protocoll

- Set the marking of the Important measurements (i. e. C01 8-edged Symbol)

   - The tool searching for the 8-edged symbols and only write them to word

   - The 8-edged balloons have to stick on the measurement

- Click on the EXE (or Makro-Symbol)

- See Word Pop-Up

- Wait and see how the tool get the data’s and wrote the protocol

- When word closed itself -> The inspection protocol is saved to the path it should


Another variant for a customer was a silent Version of this. The tool works absolut in the Background on save the CAD file, but the customer switched to the descriped Version above, because the other Version is faster and has less failure issues (Server delayed save of protocoll, can slow down CAD drastically)

 

Known Issue: I dont know why this is so, but some user have the Problem that word Closes fully when IP2MK makes the protocol. Normally it only should Close the Word-instance of the inspection protocoll after saving. by oyer 90% of users this dont happen. The other 10% say it's not a Problem. maybe a bug in the Office API but im not sure, no one seams to know why this happens.

Work with Client drawings (PDF-Format)

- Open SolidEdge ín DFT-environment

- load data from file (SE-function)

   - PDF should now be on drawing

- make a line or circle and place the measurement

   - set them to locked so you can overwrite them

- overwrite measurement

- Set the marking of the Important measurements (i. e. C01 8-edged Symbol)

   - The tool searching for the 8-edged symbols and only write them to word

   - The 8-edged balloons have to stick on the measurement

- See Word Pop-Up

   - Besides i pre-adjust it to your wishes, and it maybe is fine when you get it

     already.

   - i developed to the possibilty to adjust it, so you can nearly change everything

     besides the table of the values itself. Format it - yes, Change of table - no.

- Excel-File with a full tolerance & clearance list

   - It can be happen that you have to readjust some values for Special tolerances

   - i only had this one time in years, this table is up2date since Solid Edge V20

- 1 Change of IP2MK

   - Normally we can talk this out, im not this strict, but i had "bad" customers

     which mad things got messy. Send me your wish and i take a look on it, if it's

     only a quick Change on names or minor layout of the protocol it normally not

     should be a Problem, you get your wish.

Historical

The origin developer for the first Version of the is A.Baumann from SHS design. He designed this tool for SolidEdge V20 as Standalon Version, later there was a Version for SolidEdge ST2 implimentet to a tool which manages Insight CAD-Datas. Insight was a Freeware tool added to ST2 and is not compared with the actuell Version which is delievered with the ST4 Edition.


If you use SolidEdge V20 or higher and lower ST5 you maybe should contact him Maybe he has the old Version of this by Hand.

The IP2MK is nearly fully updated too all new VB Standards and the new API (in ST7). The downpatching of IP2MK too lower Version of SolidEdge would be very complex and nearly would mean a redevelopment of the tool. i don't plan a Version of it on the previous SolidEdge Versions.
